Our Culture

Our Culture

“Pupils are happy at the school. This is because they make many friends. They enjoy positive, supportive relationships with staff. Pupils know that staff care about them, keep them safe and are genuinely interested in their ideas and views.” Ofsted 2025

At Ormsgill Nursery and Primary School, we aim to create a learning environment where everyone is happy and able to reach their full potential.

To achieve this, we have identified Key Behaviours that we hope will define our culture.

These are:

Be Calm
Be Kind
Do Your Best

These are behaviours that everyone in our entire community aims to show in all we do.

This includes Children, Staff, Governors and Parents.

We regularly discuss these in class and assemblies and when talking with children about their behaviour.

This aligns with the vision and aims of South Cumbria Multi Academy Trust (SCMAT):

Inspiring young people and changing lives through excellence in education in South Cumbria
